The International Journal of Psychology and Educational Studies (IJPES) recognizes that Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI technologies are increasingly used in academic research and scholarly communication. The journal permits the responsible and transparent use of AI-assisted technologies, provided that such use does not compromise scientific integrity, research ethics, or author accountability.
Authors who use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Grammarly, DeepL, or similar technologies) during the preparation of a manuscript must disclose:
The name of the AI tool used;
The purpose for which it was used;
The stage of the research or manuscript preparation process in which it was employed.
Acceptable uses may include language editing, proofreading, translation, coding assistance, data organization, literature mapping, data analysis support, visualization support, and similar scholarly activities. Any use that has materially influenced the content of the manuscript must be disclosed.
AI systems cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. Authorship requires intellectual contribution, accountability, and responsibility for the integrity of the work, which can only be assumed by human authors.
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, validity, ethical compliance, and scientific integrity of all submitted content, including any content generated or modified with the assistance of AI technologies.
The use of AI tools for plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, manipulation of research findings, generation of fictitious references, deceptive image modification, peer review manipulation, or any other form of research misconduct constitutes a serious breach of publication ethics and may result in rejection, retraction, or other editorial actions.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to request additional information regarding the use of AI technologies at any stage of the review or publication process.
This policy is developed in accordance with the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in scholarly publishing.
Authors who use AI tools should include a statement such as:
"During the preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) used [AI Tool Name] for [purpose]. All AI-generated outputs were reviewed, revised, and verified by the author(s), who take full responsibility for the content of the manuscript."
If no AI tools were used, authors may state:
"The author(s) declare that no Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript."
